A little history…

The Villa Florentine, nestled on the hill of Fourvière, testifies to the historical union between Florence and Lyon during the Renaissance, marked by the marriage of Henri IV and Marie de Médicis in 1600. Erected during this flourishing period, the villa became in 1707 the “Maison de la Providence“, housing a congregation dedicated to the education of young girls. Between 1736 and 1741, a chapel adorned with frescoes enriches the building.

After the departure of the nuns in 1804, the enlargement of the building continues, testifying to historical evolutions before its transformation into an elegant 5-star hotel.
